About the event
Farmers, landowners, and anyone curious about cover crops are encouraged to attend.
Featuring keynote speaker Heath Stolee, a Radcliffe area farmer, conservationist, and founder of Nutty Farmer Chestnuts. Also speaking will be Roger Knutson and Jacob Bolson of Knutson Family Farms about their use of cover crops, as well as Dr. Peter Levi of Drake University with a presentation on water quality research in the South Fork watershed. Also this year, there is special news about financial incentives for landowners in the watershed interested in adding conservation work, like edge of field practices such as buffer strips, saturated buffers, bioreactors and wetlands.
This event will be held at the Buckeye Community Building, 308 E Ellsworth Ave., in Buckeye. Registration will begin at 5pm, followed by a complementary meal catered by Babe’s Steakhouse, with the speakers and Q&A to finish the night.
This event is free and open to the public. Come with your questions about planting and managing cover crops. The venue is spacious and COVID mitigation measures will be implemented. Face coverings are strongly recommended when not eating to help keep everyone safe. This is an event you don't want to miss!
